This is all made by Eddie Current, everything is seen through his eyes, heard through his ears and smelled through his nose (don't picture this!). A unique and kind of narcissistic vision. Love it, hate it or just don‘t care about it.
EDDIE CURRENT
NEVER ASKED QUESTIONS
Fictional Interview
THERE IS SO MUCH MUSIC OF ANY KIND AVAILABLE. WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT YOUR MUSIC?
Imperfection or the “human factor”. Yes, I can’t play drums and have to use samples for this, but everything else is kept “imperfect”. Most popular music today ist manipulated o a grade of perfection, that can not be achieved by musicians. Pitch and rhythmic precision are manipulated by complex computer-plugins, parts are played at half speed and then accelerated to give the impression of tightness. I did not use any of these techniques and kept imperfections. I even captured amp-noise and -hum. I even played two non practiced improvised guitar solos and kept the first take.
INTERESTING, WAS THIS YOUR CONCEPT FROM THE BEGINNING OF THIS RECORDING SESSION ON?
Honestly: I started with “Shade Tree”, bought a lot of these plug-ins und used them extensively. I even had someone “master” my mix. The result was fantastic. It was perfect. And it was so boring. So i deleted this recording and started from the scratch, rerecording “Shade Tree” without these manipulations. The result did sound very different, but satisfying for ME.
SATISFYING FOR YOU? NARCISSISM SEEMS TO BE YOUR DRIVING FORCE.
Not really. Although it may seem so. I was struggeling heavy to find a band. So I choose to make music all by myself. I would call it “naricisstic out of necessity”.
